In a survey I conducted a while back, a reader wrote:
"Thank you very much for setting this and everything related to it up. I have these burning questions that somehow relate to the writings of Wallace D. Wattles, which are, I may say, a treasury of truths. My questions go like this:
- What is the difference between the soul, spirit, mind, and thought, and where in the body or place outside the body does our soul reside?
- What are the functions or significance of heart and brain, spiritually? Because they say it is a kind of vessel, who resides in the brain and the heart?"
Another reader wrote:
"I'd like to ask you about the difference between the soul and subconscious mind according to Mr. Wattles' opinion.
Thanking you in advance"
You know, I used to drive myself nuts asking what's the difference between this, that, and the other, where does this, that, or the other reside, and what's the function or significance of this, that, or the other type of questions, then I read something that set me straight.
Here it is, it comes from "I and the Father", the first of three articles in Wallace D. Wattles' God: The Servant of Man series:
"We know that the laws of matter, motion, energy and life are fixed and changeless; that they are just the same all over the earth, and on all the planets and stars; that they are just the same throughout the universe. Did it ever occur to you that that is why we call it a uni-verse. Uni means one; it is a universe, a one-i-verse, and not a multi-verse, or many-verse. It is not the battleground of many laws and forces, but the harmonious product of one force and one law. Theologians and physicians have never quite gotten down to this fact yet; it will be a great day for the world when they do."
I think it'll be a great day for the world when we all do.
The very core of Mr. Wattles' entire philosophy is that everything is made from one intelligent substance that's forever moving toward more life. He said this a whole bunch of different ways over the years, but that's the gist of it. Understand that, really understand it, and you'll understand it all, the rest is immaterial.

What Do Original Substance, Formless Substance, and Other Terms Mean?
Hi Tony,
I have a question, which has been bothering me for many years and started after reading "The Science of getting rich". In it, Wallace D. Wattles exclaims about "doing Things in the Certain Way", yet I have not been able to find a proper explanation of "The Certain Way" in any of the books (perhaps I've missed it). Can you elaborate on this for me??
Thank you,
Kurt.

Maybe I'll address this in a little more detail at some point in a blog post of its own, but let me give you my short answer. Essentially, it's doing things in the way that gets you the result you're seeking. Hope that helps for now Kurt. Thanks for your comment!

By the way, I did address this in a little more detail on 08/30/2015 in a blog post titled "What's 'The Certain Way'?" (you can use the search box below or to your right on the sidebar to find it or you can copy and paste this URL into your browser window: http://www.tonymase.com/2015/08/whats-the-certain-way.html).
