Author James Allen began the book for which he's best known, his classic masterpiece As a Man Thinketh, which was first published in 1903 and, I believe, has been in print, in one form or another, ever since, with these words:
"Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: -
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass."
With that little gem in mind, here are four questions for you to ponder today:
- What's in your environment?
- How did it get there?
- What, if you don't like it, can you do about it?
- Why?
Remember:
"Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: -
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass."

Reminder: As always, if you're a student of Mr. Wattles' writings, as I am, I highly recommend you read books and articles outside his writings selectively (very selectively!), if at all, with your "Wallace D. Wattles glasses" on. What's that mean? It means if you're going to read something outside his writings, you do so from the perspective of or through the "lens" of Mr. Wattles' writings and reject or modify anything that conflicts with them. What if you can't do that? What if you tend to get easily confused or off track? Then I don't, repeat don't, recommend your reading whatever it is your considering reading, at least not right now.

Okay, one more time:
"Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: -
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass."
Some serious time spent pondering that quote and its ramifications in your life will be time well spent... extremely well spent!
