Most people don't leap out of bed after they wake up. They're usually in a bad mood and just want to stay under the covers forever. But there are also people who have no problem getting out of bed because they're eager to start the day. Are you the type of person who's groggy and grouchy in the morning, or do you have a burst of energy and excitement about the day ahead of you? Perhaps you experience both types of days regularly.
The perception is that someone who's energetic and leaps out of bed will get more work done throughout the day than someone who's lethargic. This isn't necessarily true, but it may take the lethargic person longer to get their work done.
If you want to get more energy in the morning, then you need to focus on changing your common habits. But it's very difficult to change the habits you're used to, though. Most people struggle with change and eventually give up on the idea. If you've been a certain way for several years, then it's difficult to program your mind not to be that way anymore.
To make the first step toward real change, you must come to the realization about how miserable you are every morning. Wouldn't you like to be happier? If so, then you must understand that your current morning routine isn't working for you. The only thing to do is change your routine so that you do feel better. So, how do you do this?
It's all about your technique. Develop a routine for how you go to sleep at night. For instance, the quality of your sleep will greatly influence how you feel in the morning. You can enhance the quality of your sleep by making sure you maintain a healthy diet. More specifically, you must avoid sugary and fatty foods before going to sleep. If you can, have your dinner at least 3 hours before bedtime. Make sure you don't take any stimulants before going to sleep either, such as caffeine.
As an experiment, eat a healthy dinner early over the course of a few nights. After you go to sleep and wake up the next morning, write down how you feel. Do you feel better? If you don't, then try making some more changes that might help you out.
Exercise is definitely something that can help. It'll make your body and mind feel better and more relaxed. This will make it easier for you to fall asleep every night. By the time you wake up the next morning, you'll feel totally refreshed. However, it's better to exercise in the morning after you wake up than it is to exercise at nighttime before you sleep. Since exercising increases your blood flow and makes you feel awake, it's difficult to fall asleep right after exercising.
Aside from that, do your best to put yourself in a good mood before bedtime. You can do something that makes you feel good, such as read a book or watch a friendly television program for a couple of minutes. Just make sure you don't stay attached to these entertainment sources for too long. And, whatever you do, don't get preoccupied with something stressful before bedtime. Things like paying bills and other stressful responsibilities can wait until the morning. Money concerns are what often causes people to develop sleeplessness.
Think about what your morning routine will be like. Anticipate something great happening in the morning. Perhaps you'll plan a fun jog around your neighborhood, or maybe you'll want to sit outside under the rising sun and read a book. Positive morning habits can set you on a positive path for the rest of the day.
The solution isn't the same for everybody. You need to experiment and figure out what works for you. Then you can finally wake up feeling enthusiastic and happy.
