Wallace D. Wattles Quotes

Wallace D. Wattles on Where Many of Us Fail

In "Mental Co-Operation", the twelfth of fifteen articles in Wallace D. Wattles' Lessons in Constructive Science series, Wallace D. Wattles wrote:

"With us it is too much every man for himself, while we may think kindly of everybody... yet we are almost invariably trying by thought to attain things for ourselves, of ourselves, and by ourselves, without real regard for the rights or happiness of any other person on earth. And right here is where many of us fail.

There are altogether too many people who seek to use mental power as a means or instrumentally by the use of which they can get something for nothing; who think that in some way the new thought may be used in taking advantage of other people, and whose mental science is in reality nothing more nor less than an attempt at robbery. It goes without saying that sooner or later these people are going to come to failure and disaster."

In my experience, the desire for something for nothing ranks right up there with lack of a clear and definite next-level vision as to why folks fail, especially among those, interestingly enough, who claim to believe in and be following Mr. Wattles' philosophy.

My advice?

Don't you be one of them!

A very wealthy man once told me that the single biggest, most important lesson that he learned in life was that, and I quote him here, "there ain't no Santa Claus". He followed that up with, as I do to you, "I hope that doesn't shock you".

Note 1: In his book Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill listed the "uncontrolled desire for something for nothing" as the twelfth of the thirty major causes of failure. Is it standing between you and your success?

Note 2: There's a bit more meaning to this quote than first meets the eye. To fully grasp all that it entails, I suggest that you read and the article it's from in its entirety and spend some serious time pondering it. I think you'll find, as I have, that it will be time well spent.

Wallace D. Wattles on What You Do and Don't Receive in Life

As we head into a new year, here's something for you to keep in mind...

It comes from "Unity with the Things You Want", the eighth of fifteen articles in Wallace D. Wattles' Lessons in Constructive Science series, in which Mr. Wattles wrote:

"You do not receive the things you desire; you receive the things with which you mentally unite yourself. When you mentally unite yourself with a thing which you desire, you will receive that thing; and when you mentally unite yourself with a thing which you do not desire, you will receive that thing. When desirable things come into your life, it is because you have been in mental unity with them, and when undesirable things come, it is for the same reason."

Therein lies your ticket to the good life!

"Unity with the Things You Want" is, in my opinion, one of the most important things Wallace D. Wattles ever wrote, especially when it comes to getting what you want in life. It's so important that I make a special enhanced version of it available in which I take you by the hand and walk you step by step through it. If you read and apply only one thing in the coming year, this is what I suggest you read and apply. Click or tap the link below to get your copy today.

Wallace D. Wattles on What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do

Of all that Wallace D. Wattles wrote, there are a few passages that I tend to quote more than all the others combined.

I shared two of them with you in two prior posts (Wallace D. Wattles on the Creative Power Within Us and Wallace D. Wattles on Faith).

Here's another one of them...

It comes from Lesson 10 of his book The Personal Power Course:

"... Intelligence being the source of all things, knows the real truth concerning all things; and when you come in touch with It you will have what is called an intuitive perception of truth; you will discover things. Things will open before your mind. It will not be hard for you to think of new ways, and new things to do, as described in the foregoing. If you get into the mental attitude of FAITH and ACTION described in these lessons, you are not going to have to painfully cudgel at your brain to discover something to do; you will be led to it, or it will be brought to you. Do not suppose that it is very difficult to invent new things, or to discover new methods; the new ways are already known, and you only need to come in touch with Mind which knows them. All that is necessary is that with absolute FAITH, you should do all that you can do NOW, and keep moving toward more life. It does not in the least matter that you cannot see the big thing you are to do; it will be shown to you, in due time, for there is ONE who knows. Have faith, and MOVE ON."

Therein lies the very essence of Wallace D. Wattles' entire philosophy and the absolute best advice I could possibly leave you with today...

Have faith and move on!

I shared one of them with you in a prior post (Wallace D. Wattles on the Creative Power Within Us).

Here's another one of them...

It comes from Chapter 15 of his book The Science of Being Great:

"Have perfect faith in yourself and in your ability to cope with any combination of circumstances that may arise. Do not be disturbed if you are alone; if you need friends they will come to you at the right time. Do not be disturbed if you feel that you are ignorant; the information that you need will be furnished you when it is time for you to have it. That which is in you impelling you forward is in the things and people you need, impelling them toward you. If there is a particular man you need to know, he will be introduced to you; if there is a particular book you need to read it will be placed in your hands at the right time. All the knowledge you need will come to you from both external and internal sources. Your information and your talents will always be equal to the requirements of the occasion. Remember that Jesus told his disciples not to worry as to what they would say when brought before the judges; he knew that the power in them would be sufficient for the needs of the hour."

That very same power is in you!

Notice, if you will, when Jesus sent his disciples out to bring his gospel to the world, he did not provide them with a detailed plan.

As a matter of fact, he didn't provide them with a plan at all!

What did he do?

Jesus simply said...

"Go forth".

That's it...

Go forth!

He knew full well that everything his disciples needed to accomplish their mission would come to them as they needed it...

As it will for you too!

Wallace D. Wattles on the Creative Power Within Us

Of all that Wallace D. Wattles wrote, there are a few passages that I tend to quote more than all the others combined.

Here's one of them...

It comes from Chapter 7 of the book for which he's best known, his classic masterpiece The Science of Getting Rich:

"The Creative Power within us makes us into the image of that to which we give our attention."

Whatever you focus your attention on expands in your life.

If you focus your attention on lack, that's exactly what'll expand in your life...

Lack!

Why?

Because:

"The Creative Power within us makes us into the image of that to which we give our attention."

On the other hand, if you focus your attention on abundance, that's exactly what'll expand in your life...

Abundance!

Why?

Because:

"The Creative Power within us makes us into the image of that to which we give our attention."

If you focus your attention on disease, that's exactly what'll expand in your life...

Disease!

Why?

Because:

"The Creative Power within us makes us into the image of that to which we give our attention."

On the other hand, if you focus your attention on health, guess what?

That's exactly what'll expand in your life...

Health!

Why?

Because:

"The Creative Power within us makes us into the image of that to which we give our attention."

It's that simple!
